Strong direction, cast makes ‘Rest, in Piece(s)’ work
This season’s second show at the Delaware Theatre Company, Steve Bluestein’s iconoclastic work “Rest, In Piece(s),” is billed as a dramatic comedy. It surely is comic, and Saturday’s opening night audience laughed uproariously. And it is undoubtedly dramatic – that same audience left the theatre wiping away their tears.

It’s a story/of a man named Bluestein/He’s a guy who made the Bradys sing and dance/Then he took a Rabbit Test/with Joan and Billy/and laughed with Bobby Van. To be fair, I’m not a songwriter. A truly good one would have found a way to work in They Call Me Bruce, But all things considered, it’s not bad for an off-the-cuff ditty about a very funny guy named Steve Bluestein.
